알루미늄 시트 두께 가이드: 올바른 게이지를 지정하는 방법
알루미늄 시트 두께 가이드: 올바른 게이지를 지정하는 방법
Specifying aluminum sheet thickness sounds simple, but it is where many buyers get tripped up. Gauge numbers, millimeters, “시트” versus “그릇” boundaries and the difference between nominal and actual thickness all matter. Get it wrong and the part either cannot be formed or costs more than it should.
Sheet vs Plate: Where Is the Line?
In most commercial practice, aluminum under 6.0 mm is called sheet and 6.0 mm and above is called plate. This is a practical convention, not a strict standard, but it matters when you ask a supplier for a quote because pricing, tooling and lead time differ. Our sheet range includes 1060 시트, 3003 시트 그리고 5052 시트; thicker structural and aerospace stock is listed under our 6061 T6 플레이트 그리고 7075 T6 플레이트.
Common Gauges and Their Typical Uses
| 두께 | 일반적인 사용 |
|---|---|
| 0.3 – 0.8 mm | Foil, capacitor, 포장, 딥 드로잉 |
| 1.0 – 2.0 mm | Cookware, signs, 홈통, 장식 패널 |
| 2.0 – 4.0 mm | Tank skins, trailer panels, 다이아몬드 트레드 |
| 4.0 – 6.0 mm | Marine plate, 도로 표지판, structural skin |
| 6.0 – 50 mm | Machined plate, tooling, 비품, 항공우주 |
Nominal vs Actual Thickness
Aluminum sheet is sold by nominal thickness, but actual thickness varies by gauge tolerance. ㅏ “2.0 mm” sheet can be 1.88 – 2.04 mm in commercial quality. If your part is CNC-machined to a tight dimension, specify both nominal and allowed tolerance (for example, 3.0 ± 0.10 mm) and we will confirm the mill’s capability. For tread (다이아몬드) 그릇, remember the listed thickness usually refers to the base thickness, not the peak of the pattern.
What Else to Specify
Beyond gauge, buyers should also specify: alloy and temper (1060 H14, 3003 H24, 5052 H32, 6061 T6, 등.), width and length (standard sheets are 1220 × 2440 mm 또는 1500 × 3000 mm), surface finish (밀 마무리, 닦았, 양극산화처리된, PVC protected) 그리고 포장 (pallet, bundle, anti-corrosion paper). Sending a single number — “give me 2 mm aluminum” — leaves too much room for misinterpretation.
