热浸镀锌与预镀锌钢: 哪种涂料适合您的项目?
热浸镀锌与预镀锌钢: 哪种涂料适合您的项目?
Almost every metal buyer has faced this choice: the same Q235B tube or sheet, one delivered with a thick hot-dip zinc coating and the other with a thinner pre-galvanized finish. Both products are called “镀锌,” yet they behave differently in service, cost differently, and are suited to different applications. This guide explains the process difference, the practical results, and how to specify the right one.
How the Two Processes Differ
Hot-dip galvanizing starts with a fully fabricated or welded product — a finished tube, 管道, angle or sheet — which is then cleaned, fluxed and immersed in a bath of molten zinc at roughly 450 ℃. The result is a metallurgically bonded coating, typically 45 – 85 µm (about 275 – 600 克/平方米), that covers every surface including the inside bore of pipes and the inner corner of angles. The coating is thick, tough, and self-healing at scratches thanks to sacrificial protection. 我们的 hot-dip galvanized round tube 和 galvanized steel pipe are produced this way.
Pre-galvanizing (also called mill or continuous galvanizing) applies the zinc to the steel strip before it is formed and welded into tubes, profiles or cut into sheets. The coating is thinner — typically 20 – 40 µm (Z60 – Z120) — and is applied on a continuous line for perfect uniformity. Because it is applied to strip, the zinc layer is thinner on the welded corners after forming. 我们的 pre-galvanized square tube is the typical product of this route, as is 镀锌钢带.
Coating Thickness and Corrosion Life
| 财产 | 热镀锌 | Pre-galvanizing |
|---|---|---|
| Coating thickness | 45 – 85 µm | 20 – 40 µm |
| Coating weight | ≥ 275 克/平方米 | Z60 – Z120 |
| Coverage | Inside and outside, all corners | 表面; thinner at welded corners |
| Outdoor life (urban) | 20 – 50 年 | 8 – 20 年 |
| Appearance | 亮片, slight texture | 光滑的, 明亮的, even |
| Typical cost | 更高 (post-fabrication process) | 降低 (continuous line) |
When to Choose Hot-Dip Galvanizing
Choose hot-dip galvanized products when the component will live outdoors in rain, humidity, coastal air or industrial pollution: scaffolding and shoring, highway and balcony railings, 温室框架, 输电塔, water and sprinkler lines, and any structure where 20+ years of maintenance-free life is expected. The inside of a pipe or tube is protected as well as the outside, which matters for water service and conduit. 这 DX51D+Z galvanized sheet 和 galvanized coil cover the flat-product side of this route.
When to Choose Pre-Galvanizing
Choose pre-galvanized products for indoor or semi-exposed applications where appearance and price matter more than maximum coating life: storage racks and display frames, 家具框架, gate and garage structures, light greenhouse frames, cable trays and interior partitions. The smooth, bright finish accepts paint well and looks clean without further treatment. If your project sits in a dry, sheltered environment, paying for a heavy hot-dip coating is simply wasted money.
Practical Buying Advice
Always state the coating requirement in your inquiry, not just the size. Specify the coating weight (for example Z275 or 45 – 85 µm) so the supplier quotes the right process. Ask whether the product is hot-dip or pre-galvanized — some market descriptions blur the line. And remember that a thicker coating also improves resistance to handling damage in transport and installation. For angles and channels, the same logic applies: 镀锌角钢 和 镀锌槽钢 deliver the thickest protection available in sections.
If you are unsure which coating your application needs, send the environment and expected service life with your inquiry and our engineers will recommend the most economical option.
