What Is a Q235B Steel Channel?
A channel is a hot-rolled open section with a U-shaped cross-section, produced to GB/T 706 (hot-rolled section steel) in grade Q235B to GB/T 700. The parallel flanges and web make it ideal for carrying bending loads in one plane and for easy bolted or welded connections. Unlike hollow sections, channels are open, which makes painting, inspection and welding access simpler.

How to Read a Channel Size
A channel is specified as height × flange width × web thickness, e.g. 100 × 50 × 5.0 milímetros. O “100” is the web height, “50” is the flange width, e “5.0” is the web thickness. When buyers quote “#10 channel” ou “10#”, it means a nominal height of 100 mm under the Chinese designation system.
