Choosing the right aluminum coil grade starts with matching the alloy to the job. Two of the most commonly requested coils are 1060 (pure aluminum, ≥ 99.6 % Al) Und 3003 (Al-Mn anti-rust alloy). They share a silver finish but behave very differently in service.
1060 Aluminiumspule: Conductivity and Formability First
1060 is a pure aluminum with the highest electrical and thermal conductivity among common commercial grades. It is soft, easy to deep draw, and best used where strength is secondary. 3003 Aluminiumspule: Anti-Rust and Moderate Strength
3003 adds about 1.0 – 1.5 % Mangan, which roughly doubles tensile strength versus 1060 and improves atmospheric corrosion resistance.
